Party Poker Big Game IV Not Isildur1’s Coming Out Party

George |

Part of the excitement surrounding Party Poker’s upcoming Big Game IV was the anticipated appearance of the long-unknown, notoriously secretive Isildur1, the otherwise anonymous Swedish online poker sensation who has taken sizable chunks out of the bankrolls of several of the game’s biggest players – including Patrik Antonius, Tom Dwan, and Phil Ivey. But alas, that rumored acceptance Isildur1 allegedly gave of Tony G.’s invite to be a part of the festivities was either untrue or recanted. Either way, there won’t be any appearance by Isildur1 at this latest Party Poker Big Game, and fans and detractors will have to wait still longer to find out whether the mysterious player is Viktor Blom, as many are now suspecting, or someone else entirely.

It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to accept that the mystery man is Blom, as he is a pretty-faced 19-year-old who does not look so intimidating in pictures as he does pouty. Keeping that face hidden could be an advantage to him and a factor in his big online winnings. It’s believable.

And it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to understand why he may have backed out of the Party Poker Big Game IV after supposedly accepting Tony G.’s invitation. Because apparently, the Swedish government is looking to identify this millionaire in their midst so they can tax the heck out of him. Whoever Isildur1 is, he owes the Swedish government millions in taxes-or so they’re saying. So if it is you, Viktor, we can see doubly why you’d want to keep it on the down low.

In the meantime, the Party Poker Big Game IV took place yesterday, Sunday, April 11 as Les Ambassadeurs in London, England.

Players that did turn out with Tony G. for this star-studded cash game included Phil Laak, Luke Schwartz (aka “Full Flush”), hot actress turned even hotter poker star Jennifer Tilly, along with Justin Bonomo, Roland de Wolfe, and a host of others. Winners will be announced in a future blog.
