How is the welcome bonus put together?

All poker sites offer welcome bonuses, the one even better and higher than the other. We have experienced that when it seems to be to good to be true, that’s exactly the case. Just as in real life. A great welcome bonus, in our humble opinion, is a bonus that helps you to get started with a site and actually leaves you with something valuable. That could be (free) cash to play with, cash that releases in chunks, but also things like tournament entries which usually come together with the bonus in a welcome package.

Does the software have a good reputation?

The software, or more specifically the client, should be stable and also good looking, don’t you think? Fortunately, the days that everybody could launch a poker site, flaky as they came, are left behind us. The shady ones are gone and the ones that survived have no bugs left which make playing online poker a living hell. Good for you!

So what are we looking for in poker sites these days?

What are the futures and options that assist you playing online poker, things like filters and hand histories, and how easy and usable is the client. Yes we actually play on the sites and we know poker too, and we have an eye for whats good and whats not because we have experience. We also show you which sites are Mac friendly, or maybe have a no download version for your convenience if you are on the road. Or even better, we check if the site has a mobile version and then, obviously, we run a mobile test too.

Here are just a couple of things we look for:

  • Downloadable Mac version
  • Instant poker version (browser)
  • Safety, security and fairness
  • Ease of use of the client
  • Special features and options
  • Pros and cons, hits and misses

What’s a great poker site without traffic?

Besides the software we run some traffic tests at different times of the days. This includes peak hours for non European countries such as the United States. The main purpose for our tests are to give you an idea of the traffic rates and when you can find the best games.

And what is the level of competition?

Once you have found yourself a poker site that seems a fit, you want to win some games. Depending on your own level – you could be a beginner – you don’t want to end up losing your poker balance to sharks. But if you consider yourself a shark, you definitely would want to know where to find most fish.

How to fund your online poker account?

Depending if you want to play free poker or real money poker, this is one of the critical things that makes or breaks an online poker site. Especially US poker players know that it can be a head ache funding an online poker account. Our poker reviews have lists of the available deposit methods as well as the available withdrawal methods. When there is anything other to tell, such as which deposit methods are available for US players, or what the average withdrawal times look like, you can read it too.

Hopefully you’ll be winning a lot so you can withdraw a lot!

Which games are being offered?

While most of you prefer Texas Hold’em, some of you might also want to play a different kind of poker game. There are sites that offer tons of variations to the game of poker, but never have any occupation at the tables and keep you waiting for opponents forever. Despite the fact that we’re mostly focused on Texas Hold’em and Omaha Poker, we also list all of the other poker games being offered by a site, and we’ll also tell you if there’s enough traffic which actually enables you to play these games.

Cash games, Sit & Go’s and multi table tournaments

Not only do we list which game types are being offered for which poker variation, we also have actual data of which tournaments and Sit & Go’s are up and coming. Each of our reviews has a list of upcoming tournaments specifically for the site being reviewed, but we have also created a special page for this including a filter that helps you to narrowing down to find a great game within the parameter ranges you decide.
