David Williams Leads After Day Two Of The Borgata Poker Open

WPT Borgata OpenDavid Williams, the poker pro from Arlington Texas holds the lead after two days of play in the 2011 WPT Borgata Poker Open. The $3000 + $300 buy in tournament held at the Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ promises a $3 Million Guaranteed Prize Pool.

Williams, who became known after his second place finish in the 2004 World Series of Poker and taking home $3.5 Million for his efforts, also came in second at the Borgata Poker Open in the same year earning just over $573,000. Williams ended his streak of runner up finishes to place first at the 2010 WPT World Championship which earned him $1.5 Million.

He’s looking for a repeat of first place success at this year’s Borgata Poker Open. Day three promises excitement as the the final 100 players who finish in the money will be decided and the day is scheduled to end with just 27 players remaining.

Going from day two into day three, there are 170 players remaining and the top 10 chip stacks are:

Dwyte Pilgrim won last year’s 2010 World Poker Tour Championship event at the Borgata Casino and took home a little over $733,000 for his first place win.

This year’s event is scheduled to conclude Friday, September 23rd at 3 PM.
