Limping

Limping into Pots

Inexperienced poker players have one general weakness: calling too many hands pre-flop, particularly in the earlier stages of a tournament when the blinds are low compared to their stack.

Hitting a monster while limping into a pot with a weak hand will probably bring in a decent amount of chips, but overall you will face some serious problems.

What's the plan if someone behind you raises? A call, putting all your chips at risk, or a fold wasting just a few chips.

Most of the times you will not flop a hand or be facing difficult decisions when flopping middle - or bottom pair.

Limping in frequently may cost you a lot of your stack in small portions. Playing good cards before the flop will minimize the difficult decisions.
