2010 Belgian Open Poker Championship

The PokerStars Belgian Open Poker Championship satellite tournaments are underway, qualifying players for a €1,700 seat in the 2010 Belgian Open Poker Championship (or BOPC).

There are two different satellite structures happening at PokerStars for the 2010 BOPC. One is just to award tickets-only into the main event. This is for players who either reside in or around Belgium or who don't have any problem getting themselves there and arranging for their own accommodations. Then there is the international satellite structure for players who need the whole nine yards - hotel, meal vouchers, etc.

For tickets-only, players have two sets of BOPC qualifiers to choose from, each with its own final tournament. Both sets of qualifiers have €2.20 Daily Rebuy tournaments leading into €27 Weekly Qualifiers which lead into a Super Satellite with a €215 direct buy-in - at the first Super Satellite, on Sunday, September 12, offering to award 7 seats in the BOPC guaranteed; at the second Super Satellite, on Sunday, October 3, offering to award 15 seats in the BOPC guaranteed.

The structure for Super Satellite 1 starts August 23. The structure for Super Satellite 2 starts September 13.

Players can also enter the BOPC satellite qualifier series using PokerStars Steps tournament tickets, with Super Satellite entry available for a Step E ticket. Weekly qualifiers can be entered for a Step C ticket.

Before getting to the international players' offering, with the full prize package including accommodations and meal vouchers, there's one other ways to win BOPC 2010 Main Event entries and that's direct through 1-seat guaranteed €33 rebuy/add-on events taking place Sundays, August 28 - October 3.

International players have the same €2.20 Daily Rebuy Satellites and €27 Weekly Qualifiers, the schedule August 23 - September 25, with the International Super Satellite taking place on Sunday, September 26, awarding 1 BOPC 2010 Main Event seat for every €2,500 in buy-ins.

The winner of last year's BOPC was Antonio Guida, who outlasted a playing field of 817 for a €250,000 plus payday.

Also highlighting the 2010 Belgian Open Poker Championship schedule are a Ladies Event with a €110 buy-in and a Team Heads-up Event with a €5,200 buy-in.
