PokerStars NAPT
PokerStars, sponsors of the European Poker Tour, Asia Pacific Poker Tour, Latin American Poker Tour, and others, has just introduced the latest in its line of live high stakes poker tournament series' in exotic locales around the world. The exotic locale this time? North America.
Presumably that includes Canada and Mexico, though the move to create the PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) was no doubt motivated by the huge discrepancy between the supply and demand for legal U.S. poker tournaments.
The PokerStars NAPT 1 launches with the currently running PCA (PokerStars Caribbean Adventure) in the Bahamas as its inaugural poker tournament event.
Next on its schedule are stops at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut for NAPT Mohegan Sun from February 20 - 24 and the Las Vegas Venetian for NAPT Venetian, as part of the Venetian's Deep Stack Extravaganza, from April 7 - 11. Buy-in for the main events at both of these stops are $5,000 each, though there are lower cost side events scheduled too.

The PokerStars NAPT 1 has been going since January 5 and will be running through the end of April, PokerStars is offering numerous satellites and qualifiers for free or low-cost entry into the various NAPT Season 1 events, including the NAPT 1 Main Event.
Some of the confirmed prize packages for the North American Poker Tour Season 1 freeroll include entry into the main event along with travel expenses and hotel accommodations.
And just announced: swimsuit supermodel and accomplished poker player Joanna Krupa will be hosting the televised broadcast of the NAPT 1 events.
