With the World Series of Poker in full swing, PKR has decided to put on a series of their own for players who are stuck at home wishing they were playing in some meaningful tournaments. This poker series, the PKR Super Series 2009, will start on June 26th and run one event per day until July 5th for a total of 10 events. On top of these 10 events there will also be a $5,000 freeroll on July 12th for the top 200 finishers on the Super Series 09 leader board.

PKR Super Series 09 kicks off on June 26th at 3:15pm EST with a $10,000 guaranteed, $10 rebuy tournament. The second tournament of the series will be considered the $100K PKR Masters event with a buy-in of $250 that usually runs on the last Saturday of the month anyways. PKR decided to kill two birds with one stone by adding this already existing event to the Super Series schedule. After these two events there are 7 more affordable events with buy-ins ranging from $12 to $50. These 7 Super Series events will be a lot of fun with many popular variations including a terminator bounty tournament, a deep & steep stack tournament, a heads-up 'terminator two' tournament, a Pot Limit Omaha hi/low tourney and a double chance tournament where you have the option to only risk half of your stack at once. Finally, the last event of the series is a $100 no limit hold'em 6-handed deep stack tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of $35,000.

10 tournaments, 10 bracelets

There are 10 great tournaments in this PKR tournament series and that means there are 10 unique Super Series 09 winners' bracelets to be won. They may not be World Series of Poker bracelets, but they are the next best thing.

Almost all of the Super Series 09 events will have many satellites running to allow players with all sizes of bankrolls to have a shot at winning a Super Series bracelet. Satellites range in price from $4 for the $20 events, up to $20 for the final $100 event.

After the 10 events have concluded the top 200 finishers on the leader board will be entered into the $5,000 Super Series 2009 freeroll on July 12th. Each player will start the tournament with one chip for every leader board point they earned during the series, so it is advantageous to earn as many points as possible during the Super Series in order to give yourself the best chance at running deep in the $5K freeroll. Leader board points are awarded based on a complex mathematical formula that takes into account the place you finished, the number of entrants and the buy-in amount. For example, if you came 10th in a 200 player tournament with a buy-in of $50 you would earn 483 points. It's also important to note that the heads-up 'terminator two' event will not count towards the leader board points.

PKR always puts on great online poker series and the PKR Super Series 2009 is sure to be no different. With 10 bracelets on the line and $5,000 in added prizes this online poker series is sure to be great value and lots of fun for everyone involved.
