5-Card Draw is the oldest variant of the game of poker. In this game, players all receive five individual cards during a round. These cards are all hidden to the others, unlike in Texas Hold'em or 7-Card Stud.

All players still in the game are given the option to draw (switch) one or more of their cards after the first betting round finishes. The game goes to a showdown after the second betting round. The winner in 5-Card Draw is determined by the player that holds the best five-card hand at the showdown.
